I recently started the process of enlisting in the Air Force. One part of me is excited, it's screaming out "YES! THIS IS THE BEST IDEA EVER!" but another side of me is a bit nervous. I feel like I'm getting buried in a sea of acronyms and I'm not sure what is really going on. I have the subject as it is because many of my questions are directly related to becoming an air force officer. I will of course be glad for any help from enlisted men or officers of other branches if they feel their input can be useful.

Most of my questions can be really summed up with the phase "how long until..." I have my B.S. so in theory I could try to got straight to OTS. Recruiter guy says that will be a year to get into that program if i start now... I don't really have that kind of time. A year from now I'll be so far past due on ALL my bills that I would stand about a zero percent chance of getting in. That being said... once I enlist how long will it be until I can OTS? Tech school time varies, I know, so a 'must be x after tech school' is the best type of answer I can hope for, understanding that would be a minimum amount of time and I may need to wait longer to OTS.
